Berry grew up in the Atlanta area. He and his wife Elaine moved their three kids to Fayette County in 1975. Their kids and three grandchildren are all still in the area. Berry worked for Eastern Airlines about 25 years, when Eastern went out of business he started his own company: Berry Smith Painting. After he retired he and Elaine moved to Lake Sinclair (in the home he built from the ground up). Unfortunately Elaine passed away so he moved back to this area to be around his kids and grandkids. He enjoys line dancing and dances every chance he gets! He’s also an artist and enters several art shows each year. He has an identical twin, Terry, and a brother, Kenny, a few years younger, who are all artists! Berry is a three time throat cancer survivor. He has lost the ability to speak but can still do his two passions, dance and art.
